• The Dragon fund aims to underpin the performance strategy of Welsh Cycling, but to be a fully independent source of Rider Funding.
• In its initial phase, funding will be for collective expenses at team events where riders are representing Wales OR the Dragon Rider Fund.
• As the fund grows, individual riders could be funded.
• The Welsh Cycling Union’s performance strategy for 2007 to the Commonwealth Games in 2010 is "To develop a FULL team of athletes for the commonwealth Games".
